Kalkara, also known as Il-Kalkara, is a small town located on the southeastern coast of Malta, facing the Grand Harbour. The town has a warm Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Kalkara has a rich history, dating back to the Phoenicians, who settled the area in the 8th century BC. The town was later occupied by the Romans, Arabs, Normans, and British. Kalkara is home to a number of historical sites, including the Kalkara Creek, which was used as a naval base by the British during the 19th century.
