Kakhovka, also known as Kachowka, is a city in the Kherson Oblast of Ukraine, located on the left bank of the Dnieper River. It has a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. Kakhovka was founded in 1791 as a fortress and named after the nearby Kakhovka village. It played a significant role in the Russian Civil War and was heavily damaged during World War II. Today, Kakhovka is an industrial center with a population of around 35,000 people.
