Jīsh, also known as Giscala, is a town in the Northern District of Israel, located in the Upper Galilee at an elevation of 332 meters above sea level. The town has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Jīsh has a long and rich history, dating back to the Roman period when it was a major Jewish center. The town was later conquered by the Arabs and then the Crusaders, and it has been part of Israel since 1948.
