Jinzhou, Liaoning, China, is located in the southern part of Liaoning Province, at the northern end of the Liaodong Peninsula. The city has a temperate continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters. Jinzhou has a long history, dating back to the Warring States period (475-221 BC). The city was a major center of trade and commerce during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). In the 19th century, Jinzhou was occupied by the British and French during the Second Opium War. The city was liberated by the People's Liberation Army in 1948. Jinzhou is home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the Jinzhou Museum, the Jinzhou Martyrs Cemetery, and the Jinzhou Great Wall.
