Höxter, also known as Hoxter, is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located on the Weser River at the foot of the Solling hills. It has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cool winters. The town has a rich history dating back to the 9th century, when it was founded by the Saxons. It was later ruled by the Franks, the Holy Roman Empire, and Prussia. Höxter is known for its well-preserved medieval architecture, including the Corvey Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
