The town has a population of 1,359 as of the 2010 census. Home was founded in 1890 by a group of farmers. The town was named after the nearby Home Valley. The climate is mild and temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 40°F to 70°F. The town is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Home Schoolhouse, which was built in 1892.
