Höhndorf is a village in the municipality of Schashagen in the district of Ostholstein, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is located in the northern part of the district, about 10 km (6 mi) north of the town of Eutin and 20 km (12 mi) southeast of the city of Kiel. The village has a population of about 200 people. The weather in Höhndorf is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C (32°F) in January to 20°C (68°F) in July. The village has a long history, dating back to the 13th century. It was first mentioned in a document in 1238. The village was part of the Duchy of Holstein until 1864, when it became part of the Kingdom of Prussia. After the First World War, Höhndorf became part of the Weimar Republic. During the Second World War, the village was occupied by the German Wehrmacht. After the war, Höhndorf became part of the Federal Republic of Germany.
