The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Hiram was founded in 1851 and named after Hiram Warner, a local landowner. The city has a rich history and heritage, with many historic buildings and landmarks, including the Hiram Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
