Himmighofen is a small municipality in the district of Ahrweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, with a population of around 750. It is located in the Eifel mountains, about 20 kilometers southwest of Bonn. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 5°C in January to 18°C in July. The history of Himmighofen dates back to the 12th century, when it was first mentioned in a document. The village was part of the Electorate of Cologne until 1794, when it was occupied by French revolutionary forces. In 1815, it became part of the Kingdom of Prussia. Himmighofen is home to several historic buildings, including the 13th-century church of St. Martin and the 18th-century manor house of Schloss Himmighofen.
