Highpoint, Ohio is a small unincorporated community located in the southwest corner of Butler County. It is situated at the intersection of Jacksonburg Road and Bellefontaine Road, approximately 1 mile west of the village of Jacksonburg and 5 miles east of the city of Hamilton. The community is named for its location on the highest point in Butler County. The climate in Highpoint is humid continental, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The average temperature in July is 75 degrees Fahrenheit, and the average temperature in January is 25 degrees Fahrenheit. The community was founded in the early 1800s by settlers from Kentucky and Virginia. The settlers built a log cabin on the site of the present-day community, and the community grew slowly over the years. In the late 1800s, the community was home to a number of small businesses, including a blacksmith shop, a general store, and a post office. The community declined in the early 20th century, as many of the businesses closed and the population moved away. Today, Highpoint is a quiet community with a population of just over 100 people. The community is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Highpoint Methodist Church, which was built in 1832.
