Hannawa Falls is a hamlet in the town of Potsdam, St. Lawrence County, New York, United States. It is located on the Raquette River, north of Potsdam and south of Brasher Falls. The climate is humid continental, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. The area was first settled by Europeans in the 18th century, and the falls were used to power a sawmill. In the 19th century, the village became a popular tourist destination, and a number of hotels and boarding houses were built. Today, Hannawa Falls is a small community with a population of around 200 people.
