Handeloh is a municipality in the district of Harburg, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is located in the north of the Lüneburg Heath, approximately 25 km south of Hamburg. The average temperature in Handeloh is 8.6 °C and the average annual precipitation is 712 mm. The first written mention of Handeloh was in 1293. The village was first mentioned in a document from 1293. In the 14th century, Handeloh was granted town rights by the Prince-Archbishop of Bremen. The town was destroyed by fire in 1697 and was rebuilt in the following years. Handeloh is home to a number of historical buildings, including the St. Mauritius Church, which was built in the 13th century.
