Gürün, formerly known as İnönü, is a town and district of Sivas Province in central Turkey, located at the foothills of the Munzur Mountains at an altitude of 1,400 meters (4,600 ft). The town has a cold and snowy climate in winter and a warm and dry climate in summer, with an average annual temperature of 11.5 °C (52.7 °F). Gürün has a rich history, dating back to the Hittite period, and is home to several historical sites, including the İnönü Castle and the Gürün Caravanserai.
