Guaro is a municipality located in the province of Málaga, Andalusia, Spain. It is situated in the southern part of the province, in the comarca of Guadalhorce Valley. The municipality has a population of around 2,200 inhabitants and covers an area of 22 square kilometers. The village of Guaro is located at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level and enjoys a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot summers. The history of Guaro dates back to the Roman period, when it was known as "Guaracum". The village was later conquered by the Arabs in the 8th century and remained under their rule until the 15th century, when it was reconquered by the Christians. Guaro has a rich heritage, including several historical monuments, such as the Church of San Miguel, which dates back to the 16th century.
