Groß Rosenburg is a municipality in the district of Börde in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is located in the Magdeburg Börde region, about 15 km (9.3 mi) northwest of Magdeburg. The average temperature in Groß Rosenburg is 9.4 °C (48.9 °F) and the average annual precipitation is 545 mm (21.5 in). The municipality was first mentioned in a document in 1144 and its history is closely linked to the nearby Rosenburg Castle. The castle was built in the 12th century and was the seat of the Lords of Rosenburg. The municipality is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Romanesque St. Peter's Church and the Baroque manor house.
