Griesheim-près-Molsheim is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in northeastern France, located at 48°30′11″N 7°31′49″E. The town has a population of 2,300 and is situated on the Bruche River, 15 km west of Strasbourg. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 25°C in July. Griesheim-près-Molsheim was first mentioned in 742 AD and was part of the Holy Roman Empire until 1681, when it became part of France. The town's heritage includes the 12th-century Romanesque church of Saint-Martin, the 16th-century Renaissance town hall, and the 18th-century Baroque château de Griesheim.
