Granger, Indiana is a town located in St. Joseph County, Indiana, United States. It is situated in the northern part of the state, approximately 10 miles east of South Bend and 90 miles southeast of Chicago. The town has a humid continental climate, with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Granger was founded in 1831 by a group of settlers from New York. The town was named after Gideon Granger, a former Postmaster General of the United States. Granger has a rich history and heritage, and is home to a number of historic buildings and sites.
