Gösen is a small village in the district of Weimarer Land, Thuringia, Germany. It is located approximately 10 km (6 mi) north of Weimar, at an elevation of 250 m (820 ft). The village was first mentioned in 1143 and has a rich history, including the construction of a castle in the 13th century and the establishment of a monastery in the 15th century. Gösen is home to a number of historical buildings, including the church of St. Nicholas, which was built in the 15th century.
