Glade Spring, Virginia is a town located in Washington County, Virginia, United States. The town is situated at the intersection of State Route 606 and State Route 613, approximately 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Abingdon, Virginia. The town has a population of approximately 1,400 people and is known for its beautiful scenery, historic buildings, and friendly atmosphere. The town was founded in 1786 and was originally known as "Glade's Spring". The town was renamed "Glade Spring" in 1832. The town is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Glade Spring Presbyterian Church, which was built in 1822, and the Glade Spring Inn, which was built in 1834. The town is also home to a number of parks and recreational areas, including the Glade Spring Park, which is located on the banks of the Holston River.
