Giebelstadt, also known as Geibelstadte, is a municipality in the district of Würzburg in Bavaria, Germany. It is located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level, in the valley of the river Wern, about 10 kilometers southeast of Würzburg. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from -1°C in January to 18°C in July. Giebelstadt has a long history, dating back to the 8th century. It was first mentioned in a document in 1015, and was granted market rights in 1303. The town was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, but was rebuilt in the 17th century. Giebelstadt is home to a number of historical buildings, including the 14th-century St. Peter and Paul Church, the 16th-century Town Hall, and the 18th-century Castle Giebelstadt.
