Gerber is a city in Tehama County, California, United States. It is located at the intersection of State Route 36 and County Road 32A, about 12 miles (19 km) west of Red Bluff. The city has a population of about 1,000 people. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Gerber was founded in 1887 by John Gerber, a Swiss immigrant. The city was originally called Gerber's Ranch, but the name was changed to Gerber in 1912. The city is home to the Gerber Products Company, which is one of the largest baby food manufacturers in the world.
