Gaoqiao is a town in Xinzhou District, Wuhan, Hubei, China. It is located in the eastern part of the district, on the north bank of the Yangtze River. The town has a humid subtropical climate, with average temperatures ranging from 16.5°C (61.7°F) in January to 29.1°C (84.4°F) in July. Gaoqiao has a long history, dating back to the Ming dynasty. It was an important trading center during the Qing dynasty, and was home to a number of wealthy merchants. The town is also home to a number of historical sites, including the Gaoqiao Temple and the Gaoqiao Pagoda.
