Gaojian is a town in Xupu County, Yichang, Hubei, China, located at the southern foot of the Wushan Mountains and the northern bank of the Yangtze River. The town has a subtropical humid climate with an average annual temperature of 16.5°C (61.7°F) and an average annual rainfall of 1,200 mm (47 in). Gaojian has a long history, dating back to the Warring States period (475-221 BC), and is home to several historical and cultural sites, including the Gaojian Ancient Town, the Gaojian Temple, and the Gaojian Pagoda.
