Freckenfeld is a municipality in the Südliche Weinstraße district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located in the southern part of the Palatinate region, between the towns of Landau and Neustadt an der Weinstraße. The municipality has a population of around 1,600 people and covers an area of 11.5 square kilometers. The climate is temperate, with warm summers and mild winters. Freckenfeld was first mentioned in a document in 770 AD. The village was part of the Holy Roman Empire until 1801, when it was annexed by France. It became part of Germany again in 1815. Freckenfeld is home to a number of historical buildings, including the 18th-century Protestant church and the 19th-century town hall.
