Fort Myers Shores, Florida, is a small town located on the southern coast of the state, south of Fort Myers and Cape Coral. The town has a tropical climate with warm winters and hot, humid summers. The town was founded in 1921 by a group of investors who purchased land from the Seminole Indians. The town was originally named "Alva", but the name was changed to "Fort Myers Shores" in 1925. The town has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historic buildings, including the Fort Myers Shores Historical Museum.
