Fishersville is a town in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. It is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 250 and State Route 606, approximately 10 miles (16 km) west of Staunton. The town has a population of 7,846 as of the 2020 census. Fishersville was founded in 1848 by Jacob Fisher, a German immigrant. The town was originally known as Fishersville Station, but the name was later shortened to Fishersville. The town's economy is based on agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. Fishersville is home to the American Shakespeare Center, which produces Shakespearean plays year-round. The town also has a number of historic buildings, including the Fishersville Depot and the Fishersville Presbyterian Church.
