Fiorano al Serio is a comune in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. It is located on the right bank of the Serio River, about 10 kilometers northeast of Bergamo. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and cold, wet winters. The town was founded in the 12th century by the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of San Benedetto al Polirone. It was later ruled by the Visconti and Sforza families, and then by the Republic of Venice. In 1797, it became part of the Cisalpine Republic, and in 1805, it was annexed by the Kingdom of Italy. After the unification of Italy in 1861, it became part of the province of Bergamo.
