Filiași is a town in Dolj County, Romania, situated at the confluence of the Jiu and Amaradia rivers, at 44°33′N 23°31′E. The town has a population of 16,351 (2011). Filiași is located in the historical region of Oltenia, and was first mentioned in 1573. The town has a rich history and heritage, and is home to several historical monuments, including the Filiași Monastery, built in 1645. The town is also known for its traditional crafts, including pottery, weaving, and woodcarving.
