Farmington is a town in Strafford County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located in the southeastern part of the state, about 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Portsmouth. The town was first settled in 1738 and was originally known as "New Durham Gore". It was renamed Farmington in 1831. The town is home to several historic buildings, including the Old Town Hall, which was built in 1832. The town is also home to several parks and recreation areas, including the Farmington Town Forest and the Farmington Country Club.
