Farmingdale is a hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York, United States. It is located on Long Island, about 30 miles east of Manhattan. The climate is humid continental, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Farmingdale was founded in 1695 by English settlers. The hamlet was originally a farming community, but it has since become a suburban residential area.
