Fairview is a city in Collin County, Texas, United States, approximately 25 miles (40 km) north of Dallas. It has a population of 7,503 as of 2020. The city was founded in 1844 by a group of settlers from Tennessee and was originally known as "Peters Colony". The name was changed to "Fairview" in 1850. The city is located in the Blackland Prairie region of Texas and has a humid subtropical climate.
