Essex Junction, Vermont, is a town located in Chittenden County, United States. It is situated at the junction of Interstate 89 and Vermont Route 15, and is a suburb of Burlington. The town has a humid continental climate, with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Essex Junction was founded in 1763 and was originally known as Essex. The town was renamed Essex Junction in 1867 after the railroad arrived. Essex Junction is home to a number of historic sites, including the Old Red Mill and the Essex Junction Depot. The town also has a strong heritage in the arts and culture, with a number of galleries and performance spaces.
