Erpel is a municipality in the district of Neuwied in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is located on the right bank of the Rhine river, about 10 km south of Bonn. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 0°C in January to 20°C in July. Erpel has a long history, dating back to the Roman era. It was first mentioned in a document in 1051. The town was granted city rights in 1246. Erpel is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Romanesque church of St. Peter and the Gothic town hall.
