Englewood, Tennessee, is a town located in McMinn County, Tennessee, United States. The town is situated at the intersection of U.S. Route 411 and State Route 30, approximately 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Athens, Tennessee. The town has a population of 1,533 as of the 2010 census. The climate of Englewood is humid subtropical, with hot, humid summers and mild winters. The average temperature in July is 81.2 °F (27.3 °C), while the average temperature in January is 38.3 °F (3.5 °C). The town was founded in 1836 by John W. Campbell, who named the town after his hometown of Englewood, New Jersey. The town was incorporated in 1856. Englewood is home to several historic buildings, including the McMinn County Courthouse, which was built in 1847.
