Ellinikón, Attiki, Greece, also known as Elliniko, is a coastal area in southern Athens, located 15 kilometers southwest of the city center. The area has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. Ellinikón has a rich history dating back to ancient times, with archaeological evidence of settlements from the Neolithic period. In the 20th century, the area became the site of the Ellinikon International Airport, which operated until 2001. The airport was replaced by the new Athens International Airport in 2004.
