It is situated at the intersection of US-131 and M-46, approximately 30 miles north of Grand Rapids and 60 miles south of Mount Pleasant. The city experiences a humid continental climate with warm, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. Edmore was founded in 1855 by settlers from New York and was named after Edmore, New York. It has a rich history and heritage, including being the home of the Edmore Potato Festival, which has been held annually since 1934.
