East Setauket is a hamlet located in the town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, United States, on the North Shore of Long Island, approximately 55 miles (89 km) east of Manhattan. The area has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. East Setauket was first settled by English colonists in the 17th century and was originally known as "Setalcott". The community has a rich history and heritage, with many historic buildings and sites, including the Old Field Club, which was founded in 1895 and is one of the oldest golf clubs in the United States.
