East Newark is a small town in Hudson County, New Jersey, located across the Passaic River from Newark. It has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters. The town was founded in 1895 and was originally known as Delawanna. It was renamed East Newark in 1901. The town has a rich industrial heritage, and was once home to a number of factories and warehouses. Today, East Newark is a primarily residential community.
