Dürbheim is a municipality in the district of Tuttlingen, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is located in the Swabian Jura, on the edge of the Danube Valley, at an elevation of 700–800 meters (2,300–2,600 feet) above sea level. The municipality has a population of around 1,800 people and covers an area of 14.5 square kilometers (5.6 square miles). The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from 5°C (41°F) in January to 20°C (68°F) in July. The history of Dürbheim dates back to the 12th century, when it was first mentioned in a document. The town was granted market rights in 1386 and became a free imperial city in 1548. In 1803, Dürbheim was mediatized to the Kingdom of Württemberg. The town's heritage includes the ruins of a medieval castle, a 16th-century town hall, and a number of historic churches.
