Duquesne, Missouri, is a small unincorporated community located in Jasper County, in the southwestern part of the state. The town is situated at an elevation of 1,007 feet above sea level and has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and cool, dry winters. Duquesne was founded in 1870 by a group of French-Canadian immigrants who named the town after the French general, Marquis Duquesne. The town's economy was historically based on agriculture, but in recent years, it has become more diversified with the addition of several small businesses and industries.
