Doxey, Hidalgo, Mexico is a small town located in the central part of the country, at an altitude of 2,000 meters (6,562 feet). The town has a humid subtropical climate, with average temperatures ranging from 16°C to 28°C (61°F to 82°F) throughout the year. The history of Doxey dates back to the pre-Hispanic era, when it was inhabited by the Otomi people. The town was later conquered by the Spanish in the 16th century and became part of the Viceroyalty of New Spain. After Mexico gained independence from Spain in 1821, Doxey became part of the state of Hidalgo. The town's heritage is a mix of indigenous and Spanish influences, which is reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and traditions.
