Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, is a town in Piscataquis County, Maine, United States, with a population of 4,136 as of the 2020 census. It is located at the confluence of the Piscataquis and Sebec rivers, in the south-central part of the county. The town was first settled in 1772 and incorporated in 1822. It is named after Dover, New Hampshire, and John Foxcroft, a prominent early settler. Dover-Foxcroft is known for its beautiful scenery, including the Piscataquis River Gorge and the Sebec Lake region. The town is also home to a number of historical sites, including the Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society Museum and the Foxcroft Academy.
