Dolores, Soriano, Uruguay is a city located in the south-central part of the country, approximately 280 kilometers northwest of Montevideo. The city has a subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild, dry winters. Dolores was founded in 1781 by the Spanish as a military outpost, and it played an important role in the Uruguayan War of Independence. The city is home to several historic buildings, including the Church of San Juan Bautista, which was built in the 19th century.
