Dollar Bay, Michigan is a small village located in Houghton County, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, United States. It is situated on the shores of Lake Superior, approximately 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Houghton. The village has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Dollar Bay was founded in 1898 as a company town for the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company. The village's name is derived from the dollar-shaped bay on which it is located.
