Dnipryany, Kherson, Ukraine

Dnipryany, formerly known as Britany, is a village in the Kherson Oblast of Ukraine. It is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River, approximately 46 kilometers northwest of Kherson. The village has a humid continental climate with hot summers and cold winters. Dnipryany was first mentioned in historical records in 1688. It was originally a Cossack settlement and later became a center of shipbuilding. In the 19th century, the village was renamed Britany in honor of the French province of the same name. After the Russian Revolution, the village was renamed Dnipryany.
