Djamaa, also known as Djama, Djemaa, or Djemâa, is a city located in the Sahara Desert in Algeria, approximately 400 kilometers south of the capital Algiers. The city is known for its hot, dry weather, with average temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C throughout the year. Djamaa has a rich history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Neolithic period. The city was once an important trading center on the trans-Saharan trade routes and was also a major center of Islamic learning during the Middle Ages. Today, Djamaa is a modern city with a population of over 200,000 people. The city is home to a number of historical and cultural attractions, including the Great Mosque of Djamaa, which was built in the 11th century and is one of the oldest mosques in Algeria.
