Deuna is a village in the district of Eichsfeld, Thuringia, Germany. It is located in the southern part of the Eichsfeld, on the edge of the Ohmgebirge mountains. The climate is temperate, with average temperatures ranging from -1°C in January to 18°C in July. Deuna has a long history, dating back to the 8th century. The village was first mentioned in a document from 786. In the Middle Ages, Deuna was part of the County of Hohenstein. In 1590, the village was acquired by the Archbishopric of Mainz. Deuna remained part of the Archbishopric until 1803, when it was secularized and became part of the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1949, Deuna became part of the German Democratic Republic. After the reunification of Germany in 1990, Deuna became part of the state of Thuringia.
