It is situated at the intersection of State Route 15 and State Route 247, approximately 15 miles east of Sandersville and 20 miles west of Augusta. The town has a humid subtropical climate with hot, humid summers and mild winters. Davisboro was founded in 1802 and named after Joseph Davis, the father of Confederate President Jefferson Davis. The town has a rich history and heritage, including the Davisboro Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
