Cristian, also known as Crossau, is a town in Brașov County, Romania, located at the foot of the Tâmpa Mountain, 8 km (5 mi) north of Brașov. The town has a humid continental climate, with average temperatures ranging from -2°C (28°F) in January to 20°C (68°F) in July. Cristian has a rich history, dating back to the 13th century when it was founded by the Teutonic Knights. The town is home to several historical landmarks, including the fortified church of Saint Nicholas and the Black Church, which is one of the largest Gothic churches in Romania.
