Covo is a comune in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. It is located at an altitude of 120 meters above sea level, in the Pianura Padana, about 10 kilometers south of Bergamo. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot summers and cold winters. The average annual temperature is 12.8 °C (55.0 °F), and the average annual precipitation is 1,168 millimeters (46.0 in). Covo has a long history, dating back to the Roman era. It was first mentioned in a document from 975 AD, and it was a fief of the Bishop of Bergamo from the 11th century until the 18th century. The town's heritage includes several historical buildings, including the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, which was built in the 15th century.
